The Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) of the University of Economics in Prague with the Embassy of Chile in Prague cordially invites you to intensive course taught in Spanish by Dr. Carlos Fabián Pressacco Chávez from Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Chile. The course will take place from Monday 3rd of November to Friday 7th of November 2014.

The aim of the course is to provide students with the information of process of the development of political regimes in Latin America; with their specifics, common features and differences. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of populism, presidential regime and democracy in Latin America. Students will be evaluated on the basis of the final presentation.



Lecturer Dr. Carlos Fabián Pressacco Chávez is the director of graduate studies at the University Alberto Hurtado in Santiago de Chile. He is a recognized expert in the field of political science, sociology and social studies, author of many important books and articles. His research activity is focused primarily on sub-national governments, decentralization, democracy and political parties in Latin America.
