The University of Economics is situated in Žižkov, a neighborhood of Prague, near the center of the city. Just five minutes walking distance from the building, you can find one of the most georgeous parks  in Prague, „Riegrovy sady,“ with an incredible view of Prague Castle. A lot of people go there during the summer to spend a nice evening walking or having some refreshment in one of the restaurants or beergardens.

As nearby is one of the biggest hills in Prague called Vítkov. It is a historically important place for the Czech nation. There is a great statue of one of the biggest Czech national heroes, Jan Žižka, the leader of  the Hussites, which is a part of National Memorial on the Vítkov Hill. In Žižkov you can find also the Žižkov Tower with its famous statues of  babies (Subway station:  Jiřího z Poděbrad, Green line), created by well-known Czech artist David Černý (http://www.towerpark.cz/en/tower-park-prague/).

 

Close to the University you can find the the train station Hlavní nádraží (main train station), two subway stations (Muzeum and Hlavní nádraží, Red and Green lines) and Prague’s biggest square,  Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square) with the monument of St. Wenceslas, the King of the Czech nation in 9th Century.  This square is the famous site of the 1989 Velvet Revolution.
