The Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) of University of Economics, Prague with the Embassy of Mexico in Prague cordially invites you to the extra-semestral course “Relations between the European Union and Latin America” taught in English by Dr. Ángel María Casas Gragea from the Metropolitan Autonomous University in Mexico. Intensive course of 3 ECTS will take place from Monday 13th of October to Friday 24th of October 2014 in the classroom RB 539.

The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of the specifics of the economic and political development in Latin America with an emphasis on integrative tendencies, which constitute one of the main factors of economic development of Latin American countries and the relations between individual countries of Latin America and integration groupings in EU and USA. Particular attention is paid to the macroeconomic characteristics of Latin American countries, individual agreements between countries, trade, investment and cooperation between the countries of the European Union and Latin America.IMG_3262

Dr. Ángel Casas is a recognized expert in the field of economics, integration and international trade, he is author of many important books and articles. He focuses mainly on the territory of Central and Latin America. He has lectured at many prestigious universities throughout the world, including in Spain, Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. For his research project he collaborated with the Inter-American Development Bank.
